Stress has run rampant in our society. We’re so busy rushing to get from point A to point B. You day may start with preparing lunch, dinner, get the kids ready for school, pick up this from the dry cleaners and oh, you a huge presentation for a customer at work tomorrow. I have felt burned out at many points in my adult life and I decided one day that I was sick of being tired. So I tried something different…meditation and yoga.
Meditation is such a good practice that many of us often overlook. When my heart is racing, I have learned how important it is to take a deep breath and calm myself down. Over the years, I have tried to partake in various activities that were good for me both physically and emotionally. Yoga and meditative practices have been apart of my triad (exercise is the third). In today’s episode, I talked to a good friend and yoga instructor, Sarah Cuellar.
We discussed the importance of trying out different practices to center yourself. While many of us may not have time to go to a yoga studio, I learned that you only need five to ten minutes to get started. Small changes can really make a difference!
